Portfolio site, Part 7: Some more polymer elements

In the pursuit of more and more content for my portfolio site, today I create someadditionalcustom polymer elements…

Getting my blogpost data

At first, I figured there’d be a nice way to grab my morganatwork.com rss feed, like you’ll find it here. The core-ajax polymer element has a handleAs=”xml” option. I never got to see what that would return to me, because I encountered a CORS problem.

After 30 minutes of searching for fixes on stack overflow and trying this CORS-setting plugin (to no avail), I stumbled onto this question, which turned me onto a plugin for spitting out JSON.Turns out it was created by the Museum of Modern Art.

Now, if you go here:http://www.morganatwork.com/?json=1&tag=angular, you’ll get nice, easy to use json in return.

Thanks MoMa.

So I make a fetch that json and plug it into another web component I created, morgans-wordpress, and that’s it.

Getting Dribbbledata

It’s even easier to get my Dribbble likes. Check out morgans-card-dribbble-likes.
